Our baby boy is getting huge! He's heavy enough that I have to lay him in my lap and just support his head when I'm feeding him or my arm gets tired. He's tall enough that his feet are starting to hang over the edge of the bouncy chair and yesterday the straps in the car seat had to be moved to one of the higher slots.
He's eating so much so often that I'm afraid he's not getting enough sleep, and if he continues the way he's been going there won't be enough money for Bill and I to eat. I started using BabyLoggr to keep track of his eating and sleeping and I'm going to ask about adding pablum to his bottle once or twice a day when we go to the doctor's on the 30th.
I know that just about everyone used to add pablum to bottles to make their kids sleep longer - not always because the baby was eating too much, but because the parents wanted more sleep. Now, it seems to be a topic of constant debate across the baby and parenting forums. Some people still swear by it, others say never to give them anything other than formula or breast milk before 6 months. There are also a lot of people saying that their digestive systems can't even handle pablum before 6 months, and that giving them anything other than formula or breast milk before then could cause more allergies later on.
I'm not sure I believe everything I'm reading... but we'll see what the doctor says.
